I’m going to say Coste Di Moro Lunaria, Montepulciano. It is truly delightful with bundles of dark fruits and a delightful vanilla and cinnamon finish. I love this wine with a juicy medium rib-eye (preferably Wagyu). It is simply perfect!
Most memorable glass of wine
It has to be drinking local Provence Rosé in the South of France with my wife. There is so much more to wine than just how it tastes, and this one truly captures the elegance and culture of the region. We followed this by going to the Monaco Grand Prix the following day where we drank Champagne all day. I came home with lots of fond memories, and a fairly poorly head!

It depends on the weather, the mood and the setting amongst other things. My favourite one for this summer has been Kamara Pet Nat Rosé! A cheeky little sparkling rosé from Thessaloniki in Greece. It has a real snap of cool watermelon, and predominant strawberry and yeasty flavours. Cheers!

An amazing Assyrtiko at a beautiful cliff top restaurant on the island of Santorini. A lovely ending to a great honeymoon, we enjoyed a couple of bottles watching the stunning sunset.

It’s always hard to pin this down because I love trying new wines and finding new favourites, but I’ll go with the Montresor Lugana. It’s an absolutely delicious wine, made on the shores of Lake Garda, with a fragrant nose of floral notes and tropical fruits, that lead on to a peachy and slightly honeyed palate. The finish is fresh and zesty and works perfectly with seafood dishes. Try it with a seafood pasta of shrimps, scallops and plenty of garlic!

There have been so many over the years, including an unforgettable weekend in Reims as a guest of Veuve Clicquot. However, it’s hard to beat my trip to Bordeaux, where I was fortunate enough to visit some incredible Châteaux on both banks of the river, including Château Margaux, Cheval Blanc and Château Client. We finished with an absolutely stunning meal and vertical tasting at Pichon-Longueville. To me, Bordeaux is days filled with fantastic wine and unbeatable food, topped off with a lively nightlife!

Most Memorable Glass of Wine
One or two glasses that spring to mind are from an experience in Gambia. I spent some time with a Reuters reporter who was on a couple of weeks of R & R. We spent all day travelling, meeting various people and discussing the politics of West Africa and what the future holds. Eventually, we ended up at a small restaurant overlooking the Atlantic ocean where each dining table was situated in its own private alcove. We had a few bottles of ‘Yerinberg Chardonnay’ complemented by a very large plate of Red Snapper and Salad. Just a wonderful experience and one which you know could never be repeated.
