Terroirs et Talents

A fruity, pure and singing wine, with floral notes, beautiful melted tannins and balance.

Producer Information

Terroirs et Talents is an association of Beaujolais and Mâconnais family-owned estates. The Château de la Terrière has stood in Cercié since the 16th century and is one of the oldest estates in the region. Located in the heart of the historic Beaujolais, facing Mont Brouilly, the property and its vines spread southwards over a volcanic hill, giving the wines a unique character, as most of other vineyards in this appellation are planted on sandy soils.

Their approach is very traditional – from planting clover in between the vines to fix nitrogen in the soil and to limit the weeding, to harvesting by hand in small trays to keep a high quality of the grapes.

Wine Making

The maceration is traditionally done in wholes bunches, the juice being protected from air by carbon dioxide in the fermentation. We do a few pump overs. This gentle extraction helps bring the structure while retaining the elegance of the terroir and limits handlings. Ageing of 7 to 8 months is on fine lees. This brings a natural antioxidant characteristic to the wine. The bottling is done at the estate, with no fining and light filtration.

Tasting Note

A fruity pure and singing wine, with a charming nose of floral notes (violet and peony) and small red fruits. It offers beautiful melted tannins and balance.

Food Matching

One to pair with terrines, grilled meats and with cheeses such as a ripe comté or cheddar. Also, vegetable mix salads and vegetable terrines.
