Aromas of ripe peach and nectarine with a soft and creamy palate, ripe stone fruits and integrated oak.
The De Bortoli family story is one of determination and triumph that started 90 years ago in war-torn Europe and is now told, generations later, across Australia.
Their heritage encompasses the universal story of immigrants making good in an adopted land, the rise and rise of the Australian wine industry and the tale of a hardworking and innovative family who considers good wine, good food and good friends to be among the true pleasures in life.
A large percentage of juice was handled oxidatively. This develops a richer and riper stone fruit spectrum in the resultant wine.
Fermentation is completed on oak, this allows for quicker and greater integration between the fruit and oak for a harmonious balance. Some parcels are left au naturel to go through malolactic fermentation, further softening the acid profile. The wines are left on light primary and secondary lees to add creaminess and weight.
Lifted aromas of ripe peach and nectarine complemented with a decent lick of vanillin oak. The palate is soft and creamy and exhibits ripe stone fruits. Integrated oak and a gentle acid nuance for a very long finish.
Goes well with creamy pasta dishes, chicken or hard cheeses.
