Unit 7 Scandinavia Court,
Chain Bar Road, Cleckheaton,
West Yorkshire, BD19 3QW
Soft, fresh and mellow with delicate floral and ripe fruit flavours.
Its origins date back to 1734 when the original house was founded by Jacques Fourneaux. The Taittinger link was established in 1931 when Pierre Taittinger, the founder of today’s company acquired the House.
Pierre spent time in the Champagne region when serving in the 1st world war as a young cavalry officer. Stationed at the Château de la Marquetterie, he fell in love with this remarkable property and its vineyards and eventually purchased the company.
Today, the Reims based House is headed up by Pierre’s great grandchildren Vitalie and Clovis, both of whom are actively involved in the day to day running of this thriving family Champagne House.
Taittinger Nocturne is a `Sec` Champagne made from 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The finished blend includes over 30 `crus`. The wine is aged on its lees for at least 4 years, often longer, before being `disgorged`. A dosage of 17.5g of cane sugar per litre is then added. This dosage is twice that of Taittinger Brut Réserve NV.
With delicate fine bubbles its nose is subtle, fresh and reminiscent of white blossom and ripe fruit, with overtones of yellow peaches and dried apricots. On the palate it is soft, fresh and mellow with delicate floral and ripe fruit flavours.
Enjoy with salads, picnics or as a toast at the end of a lovely evening.
