An abundance of plum and cherry aromas, with a sweet and fruity palate.
After many years of searching for an exceptional terroir in the New World, the genesis of Raventós Codorníu’s seventh winery began in the year 1999 and was built in 2001 in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains and 1050 meters above sea level.
Their origin is part of a type of wineries that was significant for the Argentine winegrowing industry. They share similar characteristics with many establishments founded at the beginning of the 21st century and provided the industry with prestige and diversity: European heritage and know-how, vineyards of their own, the elaboration of premium wines and respect for the terroir.
The grapes were handpicked and macerated at 10c for 3- days. Fermentation was carried out at 25c for 5 more days. Depending on the characteristics of the vintage and the vineyard, a post fermentation may tale place for a further 5-10 days. Malolactic fermentation was natural and the wine was kept in stainless steel tanks for 8 months, with only 15% of the wine being kept in French and American oak barrels.
