Honeyed with ripe pear and apple; balanced sweetness and acidity, spiced fruit, and a long, lingering finish.
Quinta da Trovisca is a Port-focused estate in Portugal’s Douro Valley, near São João da Pesqueira, with a brand story rooted in the thunderous “rumbles” that sometimes echo around the vineyard. Its range centres on classic Port styles, including Ruby, Tawny, White, Rosé, LBV, Colheita and aged Tawny Ports.
The winery presents itself as combining the natural beauty of the Douro with a strong sustainability ethos, stating that it respects nature through sustainable farming methods. It also highlights wildlife and environmental protection as part of its identity, noting that a share of profits is donated to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Aged for 3 years in stainless steel vats, isolated from any oxygen source to avoid changes in its colour and smoothen the palate,.
Hand-harvested, sustainably grown grapes from owned and sourced vineyards. The vinification happens with totally destemmed grapes going through slow fermentation with temperature control up to 22ºC. Before bottling, a gentle filtration happens to avoid major sediment.
Honeyed with ripe pear and apple; balanced sweetness and acidity, spiced fruit, and a long, lingering finish.
