Rich coffee and sweet, roasted agave with a smooth and chocolatey taste and subtle coffee notes.
Created by Thea Cummings, it’s a story born from adventure and intrigue. A few years ago, Thea was keen for some time away from the restaurant industry, so she and a friend went travelling round The States, visiting a string of bourbon distilleries on the way.
With Mexico next door, she decided to pop over the border. Then Frank appeared and everything changed. Frank was Thea’s neighbour; a guy who’d pretty crudely mix mezcal “from the mountains” with instant coffee, sugar and vanilla and stick it in a bottle. “There’s got to be something in this,” thought Thea.
And so, she went to Oaxaca and started making friends. Before long, she met a guy called Alvin Starkman – “a real dude” – who introduced her to Celso, her producer. Thea and Celso went about working out how to make Dangerous Don together. Eureka!
Made with espadín agave, its cooked to the traditional method. After twice being distilled its then steeped in premium Oaxacan coffee beans before being distilled for a third time.
