Adria Vini

From organic grapes, this is bright and appealing with fresh citrus notes and crisp acidity.

Producer Information

Adria Vini - Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte. Grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom they have long term relationships.

Wine Making

Sicily’s warm, dry climate is ideal for organic cultivation and most vineyards already use very little spraying against diseases and pests. So, the island is a great source of good, affordable organic wines. The Da Vero wines translate to `davvero` meaning ‘really’ or ‘naturally’ in Italian.

The Catarratto grapes are sourced from the north-west corner of Sicily, at Calatafimi, between Marsala and Palermo. The vines grow in high altitude vineyards (around 500m) with chalky soils, which were converted to organic viticulture in 2005. The grapes are gently pressed and the must vinified at 16ºC. Maturation in stainless steel.

Tasting Note

Bright, appealing aromas of citrus and fennel. The palate is fresh and incisive with more citrus notes and crisp acidity on the finish.

Food Matching

It doesn’t need food but if you must, pair with anything from salad to seafood, pasta to pork!
