Aromas of apple, peach an tropical fruits, a soft and unctuous palate, with a fresh and clean finish.
Felis Solix Avantis – La Mancha: The original winery, built in 1966, was originally called Bodega del Nieto. But it was not until 1986 that the three children of the founder, Mr Nieto, gave it the boost it needed to become a successful business. The winery was bought by Felix Solis in 2002 in response to the increasing winegrowing potential of the region. Under several years of major investment in improvement of the facilities, the first wines were launched in the market in 2012.
The Solís family work in partnership with 500 family-owned vine growers covering an area of 4,000 hectares. Vines are traditionally grown as bush vines and spaced quite widely apart. However trellised vineyards and irrigation are now allowed under the D.O. rules, a particularly significant development for La Mancha. Along with the traditional Spanish varietals they have succeeded in producing excellent wines from international varietals with a Spanish twist.
Its grapes are picked at their optimum ripeness level to obtain a well-balanced wine with just the right levels of sweetness and acidity. The wine undergoes a short period of cold maceration of around 6 hours. Fermentation takes place at 14-16ºC in stainless steel tanks for up to 12-15 days. It is followed by a short ageing period on lees to produce an elegant, fresh and fruity wine.
