Unit 7 Scandinavia Court,
Chain Bar Road, Cleckheaton,
West Yorkshire, BD19 3QW
Ripe stone fruit, lightly honeyed with creamy oak, well-balanced ripe peach characters and a fresh finish.
Il Cascinone was acquired by leading Piemonte producer Araldica in 1999 - an exceptional estate in the Monferrato hills which has undergone extensive restoration and replanting.
The `Il Cascinone` range (and part of the Alasia range) is produced with grapes sourced from Araldica’s most prized vineyards, both on the estate itself and from other selected sites. All harvesting at Il Cascinone and d`Annona is by hand. The Araldica winemaking team of Claudio Manera, Lella Burdese and Carlo Manera oversee all production.
The Campo Fiorito vineyard is located on the north-east facing slopes of the 60 ha estate of Il Cascinone, in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte (planted in 1998). This cooler site is perfect for the slower maturation needed to produce fresh whites. Grapes are typically harvested between the end of August and the beginning of September. Around 15% of the wine was fermented and aged in French oak barriques for added richness and complexity.
A delicate nose of ripe stone fruit, lightly honeyed with a hint of creamy oak. The complex palate is concentrated and well-balanced with ripe peach characters, an appealing mouthfeel and a fresh, long finish with some savoury, toasty notes.
Match with white meats in cream sauces, or perhaps avocado salads.
