Vibrant plummy and blackberry fruit, soft and supple with a juicy finish.
The ‘Pays d’Oc’, refers to the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, known by the French as ‘Le Midi’. Geographically the Oc covers an incredibly broad swathe of vineyards from the Rhône delta in the middle of southern France, arcing all the way round to the Spanish border on her Mediterranean seaboard.
Our range of Bellefontaine wines have been sourced from the Languedoc for over 20 years and we have refined the styles over the years to make sure they follow international taste profiles and trends.
This fruit-forward, easy-drinking Merlot is made from grapes sourced from sun-drenched Languedoc vineyards, vinified to showcase their fruit and varietal characteristics.
By fermenting at lower temperatures than most reds to preserve primary fruit characters. The wine receives twice daily remontage to extract colour and tannins. Meticulous blending produced the ultimate approachable and fruit-driven style, which was bottled early to capture vibrant red fruit.
Strongly varietal French Merlot, deep garnet colour with vibrant plummy and blackberry fruit. Soft and supple on the palate with good intensity of fruit and a lovely juicy finish.
Soft and pliable red capable of matching with most foods. Easy choice for a devout red drinker. Try with mushroom risotto.
