Bursting with cherry and blueberry black fruit, juniper and forest floor notes. Full-bodied and rich, with juicy fruit, fresh acidity and a hazelnut and dark chocolate finish.
From the hilly Monferrato region of Piedmont. The grapes for this Barbera come from the lieux-dit “La Tina”, belonging to Fabrizio’s family for a long time, formerly part of their old winery. The vines are 30 years old plus, and had been abandoned for 15 years before Fabrizio took them back.
The grapes were manually harvested, destemmed and fermented with 70% destemmed, 30% whole-bunch. Macerated in concrete vats for 2 weeks with native yeasts. Then aged in cement for around 9 months with malolactic completed. Racked in to tank before bottling and then bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphur.
Bursting with cherry and blueberry black fruit, juniper and forest floor notes. Full-bodied and rich, with juicy fruit, fresh acidity and a hazelnut and dark chocolate finish.
Great with light red meats, cold-cuts and, pasta and mushrooms.
